Silva Set To Be Announced As the New Dynamos Coach

After finishing second on the 2015 Premier Soccer League season’s log standings, the Kenny Mubaiwa – led Dynamos board is set to officially announce the new technical team led by Portuguese international Paulo Jorge Silva, a close source has revealed to this publication.

According to the source, the two parties have agreed on terms and Silva will fly into the country any-time soon to finalise the terms.

“Terms and conditions have already been agreed, though subject to further meeting with the Directors, and the Executive this week when the coach arrives, definitely this week,” the source revealed.
Silva Set To Be Announced As the New Dynamos Coach
The Portuguese man, who carries vast experiences from the European leagues, has agreed to take charge of the Dembare team as successor to Tonderai Ndiraya whose contract was not renewed after finishing second from Chicken Inn in the Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League.

The Dynamos felt Ndiraya was not good enough to stir the Dembare ship hence opted for a foreign national to take over the hot sit at the Harare giants.

His appointment represents a rapid and decisive recruitment campaign by Kenny Mubaiwa, the club’s president, who outlined just few weeks ago that they will review Ndiraya’ s contract and the target was a respected candidate with ‘proven experience’.

Jorge Silva boasts of vast football experience which he attained at various capacities, having worked at VYB Stuttgart, Greuther Purth, Nuremburg, and Aalern in Germany,Sporting Lisbon in Portugal, Al Wasl and Sharjiah FC in the United Arab Emirates, and COD United in Nigeria.

The deal which is rumoured to be facilitated by a Zimbabwean based in the United Kingdom, Lord Morris Kakunguwo will see former Dynamos coach and son Lloyd Mutasa and Wilson Mutekede deputising the Portuguese man.

“Lloyd Mutasa and Wilson Mutekede will deputise the Portuguese man, with one local guy roped in as an interpretor to counter barriers of communication,” said the source.

Silva’s local interpretor only identified as Lloyd is a member of Zimbabwe Football Development Academy-Centre of Football Excellence, a brain child of Morris Kakunguwo. The UK based Kakunguwo who is also a coach and philanthropist, recently announced the entry of a football style in Zimbabwe code named iTouch Football at Queensdale Primary School.

Contacted for comment from his UK base, Kakunguwo could not deny the reports but said would not want to comment as this would jeopardise the on going negotiations.

‘ I am sorry i cant comment now as both parties are yet to finalise the deal. When the right time comes i will give you a shout my brother,’ Kakunguwo told this publication.

Silva’s immediate task will be to restore sanity at the Harare Giants who finished the 2015 season empty handed.

Silva’s appointment is yet another demonstration of Dynamos FC’s ambition for progress, and his (Silva) capabilities cannot be doubted as his knowledge of football is highlighted by the array and magnitude of the clubs he previously took care of.

Ndiraya took over the reins at Dembare from veteran gaffer, David Mandigora, who was relieved of his duties on the 31st of July last year on grounds of poor performance, however, Ndiraya’s romance with the Glamour Boys could not last beyond 2015.

At the time of print, no official comment from the Dynamos offices could be mobilized as their numbers went unanswered, proving the efforts futile.h

The football fraternity is however watching from a distance to see if the Dynamos board will appoint Ndiraya to the juniors, or this is the end of the road.

At the beginning of the season last year, Mandigora was mandated to retain the league title, but his poor performance saw Ndiraya taking over mid stream after being re assigned to end the season on a high note, with the title being a bonus.

Ndiraya finished 2 points behind log leaders Chicken Inn FC.
