Dairibord responds to Pfuko incident, says it’s a clear case of sabotage.

Leading beverages manufacturer, Dairibord has issued a press statement responding to an incident were a piece of cloth and paper were found in a unit of their Pfuko Maheu product. This unit in question was brought by a Facebook user named Tsungie Mubaiwa who went on to post images of the cloth dangling out of the popular Pfuko Maheu on her Facebook wall, which in turn went viral with more than 100 shares this afternoon.

In a statement released late on Wednesday, Dairibord went on the defensive saying the incident is a “clear case of sabotage” that occurred outside their processing plant. The company acknowledged receiving a complaint from a customer and says it took the product for testing but did not explain in detail the preliminary findings which lead them to conclude that it was indeed sabotage.

In the statement, the company also claims that their processes are highly automated which in their words, “makes it impossible for foreign bodies to adulterate our products”.
